Berghain brings back all the memories, so it is apt to greet you with a sweet ass sound from the block!

A stand out of Krosswindz...
I wake up sometimes with a peaceful mind and sometimes within a dawn's dream...
What happens to me... sadness everywhere, tired heart of mine...tell me why?

Asian Dub Foundation and Naxalite
ADF went on tour to India.
Asked about their song Naxalite http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYbZbNsqgiE, more important today in context of India's ongoing class struggle, Chandrasonic said, "It’s not a rallying cry for the movement or a ringing endorsement. This was a song aimed purely at a British audience.” The group, he says, was “revolted” at the embarrassing stereotype of Indian people in Britain. “You asked any average person what they knew about India and you’d hear ‘Gandhi. Curry. Peace and love.’ We were so offended.” [Source:ADF website]
Funny that the creators of such a beautiful and strong piece of music, who also support Zapatistas and other people's movements, are shying away from the Indian indigenous people's movement. Is it because they are catering to the upper middle class audience in India that can afford to go to their concerts? Or is ADF siding with the political right? Indeed leaves the taste of a cheap sell-out.
Brothers and sisters of the soul unite
We are one indivisible and strong
They may try to break us but they dare not under estimate us
They know our memories are long
A mass of sleeping villages
That's how they're pitching it
At least that's what they try to pretend
But check out our history
So rich and revolutionary
A prophecy that we will rise again
Again and again until the land is ours
Again and again until we have taken the power
Again and again until the land is ours
Again and again until we have taken the power
Deep in the forest
High up in the mountains
To the future we will take an oath
Like springing tigers we encircle the cities
Our home is the undergrowth
Because I am just a naxalite warrior
Fighting for survival and equality
Police man beating up me, my brother and my father
My mother crying can't believe this reality
Again and again until the land is ours
Again and again until we have taken the power
Again and again until the land is ours
Again and again until we have taken the power
Jump into the future dub zone
Roots rockers
And we have taken the power
And the land is ours
And we have taken the power
And the land is ours
And we have taken the power
And the land is ours
And we have taken the power
And the land is ours
Because I am just a naxalite warrior
Fighting for survival and equality
Police man beating up me, my brother and my father
My mother crying can't believe this reality
Iron like a Lion from Zion
This one going all the youth, man and woman
Orginal Master D upon the microphone stand
Cater for no skeptical man- me no give a damn
'Cos me a naxalite warrior

Failed State...Noam Chomsky
Amazing book from Chomsky... a brilliant read!
Brings me to ponder over the state of Indian politics and the only definition that suits...Failed State.

Recently, the authorities in India arrested and sentenced Dr. Binayak Sen, a noted public servant and a civil rights activist, a medical doctor who served the most brutalised of Indian citizens... the tribal people. He was sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of sedition against the Indian state by apparently sympathising with Maoist rebels. Charges brought on, sham trial and sham, concocted evidence and there you go...incarcerated.
Bravo! Kudos! Dissident voices beware! The Indian State is watching you all! Submit or be doomed!
The real hero....

Freedom's just another another word for nothing left to lose
Listening to a vintage Janis Joplin vinyl Platte at Alex's place this morning with freshly ground coffee, taking care of his cute looking black cat, Sticklet and remembering you all the while. Oh thank lord for Joplin!
Hell yeah, this is life!!!
